Jayden gave Jena this watermelon and she would not let me take it away. What can I say even Jena likes watermelon.

Gymnastics Camp 2008
Jayden has been in gymnastic camp this summer. He has incredible upper body strength and his flexibility is increasing everyday. At first Jayden didn't want to do gymnastics camp. He said "No Mommy I don't want to go to gymnastic camp if "girls" are going to be in my class." I then told him his "girl" friend Kaleigh would be in the class and then he got all excited and he didn't want to miss gymnastic camp.

Kids
Jayden's front teeth are finally coming in. His teeth are big and definitely not straight. We brought him to the orthodontist and he basically told us to start saving our money cause braces are in Jayden's future.
Josh's four front teeth have come all the way in. I can't believe how different he looks with teeth. Josh has been crawling and sitting up himself since 7 months. He began standing up in his crib at 7 1/2 months. Josh has a small hemangioma above his left eye. Basically a red birth mark. The doctor says it should go away at age 2-3. I just need to take him in to the doctor if it becomes any bigger because it can interfere with his vision. It hasn't changed in size in the last few months so hopefully it is as big as it will get and it will start shrinking .
This week Jena's first tooth finally broke through. Josh and Jayden's first teeth were the bottom teeth. Not Jena, her first tooth is the top right tooth. She just has to be different. Last week Jena started to sit herself up and pull herself up. She crawls a few steps than she goes back to the all familiar drag/army crawl. I had just enough hair to get it into a small pony tail on top as you can see in the picture below.

Daddy built a tree house
It is so nice to have brother and brother in law in construction. We were able to get the extra wood from their projects and we built this shed-play house. Thanks to our friends who allowed us to borrow their tools. Jayden is so excited, he goes inside every day. We just need to get some paint on it. I have already pulled 3 splinter out of Jayden's hands. The other injury being my big toe. One of the sheets of plywood met my left big toe. Yes it was broken. I was told it would only take 4 weeks to heal. It has been 6 weeks but I still can't wear heals. At least it's sandal season.

Pioneer Day 2008!
Monday, July 14, 2008
On the 24th of July we celebrate Pioneer Day. We remember the early mormon pioneers who traveled across the plains into the Salt Lake Valley years ago. In 2005 our church in the Simi Valley area walked approximately 3 miles pulling authentic wooden handcarts to get a taste of what those rugged people had to endure. It was a hot day and many of us had the modern convenience of comfortable shoes, that lessened some of the pain, but at the end of the day we were all pretty dirty and tired. We could barely imagine going up to 20 miles a day for weeks and months battling fatigue, hunger, and the elements. All in all, it was a great experience that gave us a real appreciation for all those who have gone before us, and Jayden even got his picture in the local paper.
